Disability News Service:

Disability News Service (DNS) is run by John Pring, an experienced journalist who has been reporting on disability issues for more than 15 years.

He launched DNS to address the absence of in-depth reporting in both the specialist and mainstream media on issues that affect the lives of disabled people.

'The aim is to encourage schools and colleges, as well as the media, unions, employers and public bodies, to raise the profile of disabled people’s rights, inclusion, disablism, the social model of disability and the struggle for equality.'

Down Under Mystery Tour

Down Under Mystery Tour is a unique comedy film starring and co-written by three men with intellectual disabilities.

The film was conceived as part of director/producer Michael Noonan’s PhD about disability and comedy, which sought to explore the complex line between ‘laughing at’ and ‘with’ and demonstrate that meaningful and constructive creative collaboration between intellectually-disabled and non-disabled people is possible.

DPAC - 26 March 2011

"Today we want to make our voices heard and speak out along with others who wish to protest against the unjust measures being taken by the CONDEM Government. Today we want to ensure the 26th of March 2011 goes down in history as the first time since the 1920s that disabled people en bloc have joined a mainstream demonstration called by the Trade Union Congress.

To make sure disabled people on this March and those supporting us through virtual protests and other activities aren’t forgotten or left as footnotes in history, DPAC is launching a new project: Disabled People Make History in collaboration with Disability History Month and Spaghetti Gazetti.
